"After this big system was installed at the hospital, we thought there was need for surrounding communities to also become aware of the technology and thought of conducting a big public event for the purpose" said Mother General Sr Eutropia Nduye. "We consulted TAREA for their referencing service when we were looking for a supplier of the solar system. When the idea of a public event at Mbingu came, we also shared it with them and luckily they agreed to offer their full support" she said. Ensol Tanzania Ltd, A Solar PV company based in Dar es salaam was also one of supporters of the event.
The event dubbed " Mbingu Solar Day" attracted scores of people from Mbingu and surrounding areas.
